EFFECTS OF MISSING PATIENT’S RECORDS IN MANAGEMENT OF PATIENT’S HEALTH CARE DELIVERY

This research work deals with the effect of Missing Patient’s Records its impact in the reduction of misfiling of Patient Health Record in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi in Anambra State. The study was guided by the  impact of missing records in the reduction of misfiling of Patient Health Record and also to ascertain the role and functions of Health Records Officers in ensuring proper Health Records used and preservation. The research design adopted for this study was descriptive research design- Questionnaire were used to collect data both primary and secondary data source were used and data was analyzed using statistical tables which are presented in frequency and later converted to percentages. The population for this study was 66 with sample size of 50 staff. Data collections were analyzed using statistical tools such as tables and hypothesis was tasted using chi- square. The findings indicate that the study mainly is focused on effect of missing patient’s records.
